Much sought-after Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet is set to quit Lyon for the Premier League this summer.
The France international has turned down moves to Manchester United and Juventus during his 11 seasons at Stade Gerland, but sources in France believe his time in Ligue 1 is poised to end in the summer.
Lyon have already lined up Nice stopper Hugo Lloris, believing Coupet wants to end his career with a fresh challenge - either in Serie A, or more likely in the Premier League.
Manchester United have long been admirers, but Arsenal would appear the more likely destination given Arsene Wenger's close ties with the player, and the inability of both Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia to secure the number one position at The Emirates.
The player has a ?4m buy-out clause, but also a "desire to move on, which became apparent last season, and has become even greater this season," according to Coupet's agent Frederic Dobraje.
"He is seriously considering his options. It is a desire which Greg has held for some time."
