Pele has been robbed by an armed gang in Sao Paulo but the Brazilian legend was not hurt in the incident.

The 67-year-old was a passenger in a car that was reportedly stopped by ten men, with the former Brazilian star on his way from the city to his seaside home.

It has been revealed that the robbery took place earlier this month, but details of the incident have only just emerged.

Reports claim Pele's car was surrounded by armed men and the ex-Santos ace had his gold necklace, a mobile phone and a watch taken from him before the gang ran off on foot.

The local police say they were not informed about the incident.
