Scots hit by another injury blow

Intnl FootballMidfielder James Morrison is a major injury doubt for Scotland's World Cup qualifier in Macedonia due to a knee injury.

The West Brom ace suffered the problem in his club's 0-0 draw with Bolton last weekend, with George Burley saying he will "give him every opportunity" to prove his fitness ahead of the clash in Skopje.

The 22-year-old is the latest injury concern for Burley, who is already without David Marshall, David Weir, Garry O'Connor, Kevin McNaughton, Callum Davidson and Kevin Thomson.

Jamie Langfield, Michael Stewart and Kirk Broadfoot have all been called into the squad for the Group Nine encounter, while Celtic's Barry Robson is the favourite to replace Morrison.

Birmingham's James McFadden is more likely to be the partner for Rangers striker Kenny Miller in the heat of Macedonia - it has been 38c in Skopje on Friday.
