And, after a poor start to the second half proceedings, Lee Wilkie grabbed a killer second for the hosts to end Inverness' hopes of getting a result.
"You have to score goals when you make the chances," Brewster said. "That is the most we have created all season. The first half could have been 4-4.
"I thought my players were superb, but just for that 20-minute spell, United dominated.
"When it's one, you always have a chance but at 2-0, it's a big task.
"(Adam) Rooney then scored an offside goal and we got the own goal. I just wish there was more time left."
