Roy Keane says he is targeting four new players for Ipswich this summer with Manchester United's Lee Martin believed to be one of them.

The Town boss has insisted it's a case of "quality not quantity" as regards new signings at Portman Road, with Keane happy to give the current squad every chance to prove their worth.

Keane revealed that Ipswich are making some progress in their search, but insisted: "These things take time and we need to be patient.

"It's an awkward time in that so many people in the game are away on holiday or tied up on other matters, but we're moving forward."

He added: "I'll be happy if I get the four players I want but it's a big if and we're certainly not going to spend over what we consider to be the right valuation for the players."

United winger Martin is thought to be one of the quartet being targeted, but Town face competition for his services from Championship rivals Bristol City.
