Nigel Reo-Coker has departed Ipswich having rejected the chance to sign an extended contract until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined Town in October and saw his short-term deal expire at the weekend, with boss Mick McCarthy offering him the chance to pen extended terms until June.

But Reo-Coker is determined to land a long-term contract and will now go elsewhere in order to do just that, with offers believed to be on the table.

The former Bolton and Aston Villa man has made 11 appearances during his three months at Portman Road, nine of which starts.
