Rhodes leads to goals

IpswichTeenage striker Jordan Rhodes grabbed both goals as Town's reserves beat Southend 2-0 at home on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old, just back from a loan spell at Rochdale where he scored twice, struck just before half time and then from the penalty spot in the second half.

Defender Pim Balkestein played 45 minutes on his return from a groin injury and showed no adverse reaction.

The Dutchman will now come into the reckoning for Saturday's clash with Swansea City at Portman Road.
