Jefferies hails Killie defence

KilmarnockKilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies says keeping clean sheets is the key for his side and is targeting another one against Hamilton.

Killie have picked up four points from their opening two games and have yet to concede a goal and Jefferies is targeting another strong defensive display against the SPL new boys.

"If you keep a clean sheet then you obviously have a better chance of winning or getting something out of a game," Jefferies revealed. "One of the things is that we have competition for places at the back, and also in other areas.

"We thought seven points out of nine in the first three games would be good so it's up to us. If we beat them on Saturday, we will get that.

"Before the season started, we would have targeted them for three points - just as they would have done with us - we want that victory and then we can start to take it forward."
