Jim Jefferies has warned his Kilmarnock side that they must be prepared for hard work or face the prospect of SPL relegation.

A 2-1 home defeat to Falkirk has seen Killie slip to just one point off the bottom and now face a tough clash at fourth-placed Dundee United on Boxing Day.

Following the home loss, Jefferies questioned the players' commitment and warned the squad that the only way they are going to get themselves out of trouble is to work their socks off.

The manager told the Press & Journal: "The only way they will get out of this is by rolling up their sleeves. I hope we learned a lesson for future games. If we don't then we won't win many."
