Kilmarnock defender Simon Ford has called on his team-mates to stand up and be counted or face the prospect of being relegated.

Killie were held to a goalless draw at Hamilton Academicals on Tuesday night and are now just one point above basement-side Falkirk, having played a game more.

Boss Jimmy Calderwood wants to see his players trying to play a bit more football and Ford has told his team-mates to stop 'hiding' in games.

"The gaffer has come in and wants us to play with a bit more football," Ford said.

"He wants us to be comfortable on the ball but it has got to the stage at times where we do not want to make a mistake and we are hiding.

"In the first half at Hamilton that showed.

"The gaffer has told us to get on the ball and although we might make mistakes to stick together."
