With Catalunya set to vote on their independence, Barcelona might have to decide whether they want to play in La Liga or Ligue 1.

If the vote goes through for Catalunya to break away from Spain, the Nou Camp outfit would have to make a decision on where they should play, with France or Spain being the two options.

Local mayor Xavier Trias believes this is a decision Barca would have to make, as a pure Catalunya league would not be an option.

He told AFP: "We (Catalunya) do not have the possibility of a competitive league.

"We would have very few teams and Barcelona will need to join another league. That could be the French or the Spanish one."
