Elland Road exodus

LeedsLeeds boss Gary McAllister is to reduce his squad in order to bring in some new faces ahead of the new campaign.

All three of the players shown the door at Elland road are midfielders, an unsurprising move as Leeds are massively over-staffed in the middle of the park.

Irish midfielder Robert Bayly is joining Darlington on trial next week and it is thought the League Two outfit are keen on a permanent move for the 20-year-old.

Curt Weston is to join League Two side Gillingham FC this week, initially on a 28-day loan.

Weston has not started a league match for Leeds since the opening day of the last season and it seems unlikely the player will feature in McAllister's future plans.

Finnish winger Seb Sora is currently on trial with newly-promoted SPL side Hamilton despite never playing a first-team game for Leeds and it is expected the player will move on.

The changes are being made to free up funds for new signings, with Crystal Palace striker Dougie Freedman and former Coventry City defender Paul Telfer on McAllister's radar.

On Telfer, McAllister said: "I've got a decision to make, and it's one I'm keeping close to my chest at the moment.

"He's an incredibly fit guy and he made the most of his time with us. It's something we're weighing up."
