Colchester look set to make a permanent move for midfielder David Prutton after his scoring debut for the U's last weekend.
Prutton, affectionately known as Jesus by Leeds fans, is not allowed to play for his new side this weekend at Elland Road due to the terms of his loan but they have now confirmed they would like to take him on a permanent deal.
Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Essex: "The plan is to make it permanent. He's a very good player, he's been there and done it.
"In a team that's growing we've got to have people in the dressing room and out on the pitch who can lead."
