Utility man agrees Whites deal

LeedsLeeds United have been boosted by the news experienced utility man Paul Telfer has signed a one-year deal at Elland Road.

The former Celtic, Coventry and Bournemouth man was brought into the club by boss Gary McAllister on a non-contract basis in he summer. However, following his impressive display in the 4-0 Carling Cup win against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, Telfer has been kept on for the season.

"I played with Gary and I know what he's like and how he works," Telfer told the club's official website.

"I could have stayed down south, but when Gary asked me if I wanted to join up for training in pre-season it was a massive incentive for me.

"I looked around at the crowd for the first home game of the season and that shows you what sort of club this is."
