Whites move for Argentine striker

Leeds boss Gary McAllister is ready to make Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio his fifth capture of the summer.

The 24-year-old put in a useful display in Leeds' 2-0 win over Barnet on Saturday and showed some touches of true class, so much so that the Whites boss is now going to pursue the signature of the former Boca Juniors and Barcelona man.

McAllister said: "We'll have to sort something out very quickly, but I like what I've seen.

"I though Luciano was excellent (at Barnet). He's come here playing for his career and he worked ever so hard for the team."
