Whites to net £1m cash boost

Leeds United are set to earn around £1million from the sale of James Milner to Aston Villa from Newcastle on Friday.

The 22-year-old England Under-21 international made 54 appearances for Leeds before leaving for St James' Park in 2004. And the Whites included a lucrative sell-on clause should Milner ever move on from the Magpies in a big money deal.

That move happened on Friday with Villa boss Martin O'Neill agreeing to pay around £10million for the player which should hand a major boost to the coffers at Elland Road.
