Richie Wellens' suspension could lead to Nolberto Solano's first Foxes start at Blackpool on Saturday.

Solano is one of four players who could come in after doing well as a substitute against his former club Newcastle last weekend but Lloyd Dyer, Dany N'Guessan and Steve Howard are also pushing for recalls.

Boss Nigel Pearson could leave his selection until the last minute to assess the fitness of forwards Paul Gallagher (calf) and Yann Kermorgant (hamstring).

Wellens serves a one-match ban against a club he made his reputation as a midfield hardman at, following his Man Utd academy upbringing.

Gallagher had to be substituted midway through the second half against Newcastle last week but the City manager expects the Scot to recover in time.

Defender Alex Bruce goes straight into the squad after joining on loan from Ipswich for the rest of the season.
