Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has been named the npower Championship manager of the month after winning every league game in January.

The 49-year-old beat Burnley boss Sean Dyche and Brighton's Gus Poyet to the award after moving his side to within three points of the automatic promotion places.

Emphatic victories against Bristol City and Huddersfield, combined with battling wins over Wolves and Middlesbrough, helped Pearson pick up the gong.

The Foxes scored 13 times in those four games with new striker Chris Wood netting five of them but the New Zealand international lost out on the player of the month award to Watford's Matej Vydra.
