Leyton Orient defender Mathieu Baudry is hoping his goalscoring display against Preston at the weekend will be enough to keep his place in the team.

The Frenchman marked his first league start since September by opening the scoring as the O's recorded a fifth consecutive victory with a 2-0 success over North End.

"It was a bit like a dream, really nice for me," Baudry told the club's official website on his first league goal.

"I said to Deardo (coach Kevin Dearden) on Friday that I thought I was going to score, and I did.

"I have always been ready to play - I think I did okay in the cup games and felt ready to help the team.

"When I get the shirt I want to keep it, so Saturday was fantastic because it was a great performance from the lads."
