Fabio Aurelio could return for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby while Lucas and Maxi Rodriguez are also pushing for recalls.

Aurelio has not played for the Reds since the 1-1 draw at Stoke in January as his injury woes struck again but the Brazilian is now fit and is pushing for a start against the Blues at Anfield.

Lucas and Maxi, meanwhile, were both substitutes in the 2-0 win over Bolton last Saturday so they could be back in the starting line-up as boss Rafa Benitez ponders shuffling his pack once again.

Albert Riera is likely to keep his place on the left wing while David Ngog could start up front alongside Dirk Kuyt depending on whether Benitez decides to go with a 4-4-2 or his more favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

Fernando Torres, Glen Johnson and Yossi Benayoun, however, all remain on the long-term injured list and will again be forced to miss out Saturday's eagerly-awaited early kick-off.
