Reds ace Mamadou Sakho has played down his heroics after helping France secure a place at next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil.
The French had looked in real danger of missing out next summer when they lost 2-0 to Ukraine in the first leg of their play-offs but Sakho came up with a brace as they secured a place in Brazil.
The 23-year-old, who moved to Anfield for £18million from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, played down is role in the victory.
He told reporters: "I don't see myself as a hero; the team was the hero in this one. I'd never previously scored a double in my career.
"We're going to Brazil and we have to take on board the lessons from all of our matches, not just this one."
