Skipper Steven Gerrard has hailed Raheem Sterling and maintains if he keeps his current form going he is a certainty to go Brazil.
Gerrard also revealed he gives the youngster a wide berth in training as he is one of the toughest players in the squad.
The winger has been in excellent form this season and is many people's tip to go to Brazil with England next summer but it's unlikely many would have him down as a hard case when they seem him flying down the wing.
Gerrard isn't fooled by his slight build though and admits he doesn't go near him on the training ground.
"I don't go near him in training because if I do, there is only one winner," Gerrard told the club's website. "He's the toughest in our squad.
"He just needs to keep learning and listening to Brendan Rodgers and the experienced players in the dressing room and believing in himself. If he does that, he'll be all right.
"His form of late has been sensational and if he continues that until the end of the season, we will see him at the World Cup."
