Italian set to play

Rafa Benitez will not throw Fernando Torres straight back into the side for tonight's clash with Fiorentina so David Ngog will start.

With nothing riding on the Champions League encounter at Anfield, Benitz will not take any risks so it may well be a experimental side which takes to the field with Torres set to feature late on as he returns to fitness.

Italian Alberto Aquilani will make his full debut following his £18m move from Roma in the summer and Benitez says he plans to use him as much as possible now that he has overcome his ankle injury.

Benitez said: "I think the fans will get to see the best of Aquilani this season.

"It is a question of time. We want to use him as much as we can this season."
