Reds eye France ace

Reports in Spain claim Liverpool's chief scouts were on hand to watch Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann in action on Monday.

It is not the first time Liverpool have made a personal check the player, who is attracting interest from across Europe, but the biggest challenge to Brendan Rodgers landing the 23-year-old winger comes from closer to home.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with Griezmann on a number of occasions and when asked back in March about a move he refused to rule out a switch to the Gunners this summer.

Liverpool hope they can persuade the France star to join them and it could come down to which club offers the most money for the player who is under contract until 2016 but has a buy-out clause thought to be around the £22million mark.
