Liverpool's search for new strikers has seen them linked with Colombian ace Jackson Martinez who is currently playing in Mexico.

The Reds are not alone in keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, who plays for Jaguares Chiapas in Mexico, as Porto are also said to be keen on his services.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Porto are also on Martinez's trail and could look to make the first move so they can strike a deal for the forward before Liverpool or anyone else make a move.

The asking price of around £4m to £5m is not prohibitive and Liverpool are said to have had the player watched on a regular basis as they look to find a solution to their striker crisis.

Liverpool's lack of a killer touch beginning to cost them vtal points, no more so than on Saurday when they created chance after chance against Arsenal but only scored one and lost to a late Robin Van Persie goal, so they are now being linked with strikers across Europe and beyond.
