Liverpool are said to be one of the clubs on the trail of highly-rated Porto striker Jackson Martinez but face a battle to land him.
Not only is Brendan Rodgers interested in the Colombian but Manchester United, Galatasaray and a number of big-spending Russian clubs as well, so Rodgers faces an uphill battle to bring him to Anfield.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claims that Porto are now preparing themselves for a huge bid for the prolific striker with Turkish giants Galatasaray ready to open the bidding at a whopping £37.5m but, with the Russians also set to match that sort of offer, it all could be too rich for the Reds whose new signings now have to be approved by a committee at the club.
After joining from Mexican club Jaguares last summer, Martinez has scored 23 goals in 25 league appearances in Portugal this season.
