Reds eye strike ace

Last Updated: Wed, 20 Nov 2013 08:50

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is locked in a tussle to land Greek striker Konstantinos Mitroglou from Olympiakos.

Clubs across Europe have been monitoring the 25-year-old, who has impressed for club and country this season, scoring twice in Greece's 3-1 win over Romania last week and again in a 1-1 draw in Bucharest on Tuesday which ensured they qualify for the World Cup.

He has also been bang in form for Olympiakos, hitting the back of the net 17 times in 14 outings both domestically and in Europe.

As well as Liverpool, Arsenal are also said to be keen and he is also being chased by Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Genoa and Benfica.

With over two years left on his current deal the asking price is thought to be around the £7million mark which shouldn't put off any of the interested parties.
