Liverpool are one of a number of clubs looking to try and land highly promising youngster Will Hughes from Derby County.

The 17-year-old is set to play for England's Under-21 side on Tuesday night against Northern Ireland and scouts from across the country are expected to be in attendance in Blackpool to watch the match.

Derby boss Nigel Clough, who is under pressure to raise funds according to reports in some quarters, has likened him to a young Liam Brady and rates him very highly.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is not alone in his interest, however, and both Arsenal and Manchester City are also very keen on the player.

Despite his tender age and the fact he is unproven, reports are already rating him in the £4m bracket.
