Liverpool are still in the race to sign Tom Ince from Blackpool but Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is leading the race.
Ince was one of the hottest properties during the last transfer window but no one matched Blackpool's asking price so he stayed at Bloomfield Road.
Liverpool are also in the hunt and they still could try and land their former player although they baulked at the asking price back in January and the price has gone up since then.
Mackay is now ready to offer the £8m valuation that the Seasiders have placed on the player and look to be at the front of the queue for his services.
