Reds in for Colombian striker

Last Updated: Mon, 24 Mar 2014 12:17

Reports in Italy claim that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is set to battle it out with AC Milan for the services of Luis Muriel.

The 22-year-old Colombian is said to have fallen out of favour with his club boss Francesco Guidolin at Udinese and has been struggling for first-team football, which has led to rumours of a £15million summer move.

Reports in Italy have claimed the Reds have been watching the international frontman, as Brendan Rodgers seeks striking reinforcements for a likely European campaign next term.

AC Milan are now thought to be interested as well if, as expected, former Manchester City star Mario Balotelli departs the San Siro during the close season.

But the potential offer of Champions League football, which Milan can't offer next season, may tip the balance in Liverpool's favour despite the fact that he may have to play second fiddle to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge at Anfield.
