Liverpool have become the latest Premier League side to show an interest in Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder.

The 28 year-old has been left unsettled at the San Siro after the board had tried to cut his annual payment, which currently stands at £1.6 million.

The reds will face tough competition from the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham who are also hoping to add him to their sides.

Liverpool are understood to have lodged a bid of £9.5 million in the hope that he will be tempted by the opportunity to play at Anfield, although both United and Spurs are prepared to bid £11 million.

The Dutch international has played for some of the top sides in European football- Ajax and Real Madrid.

"Clearly it's best for everyone concerned that in January I am transferred."

"If that doesn't happen then I will stay. I have a contract with Inter until 2015."
