Reds linked with Palermo switch

Liverpool are ready to offer 6million Euros for Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic, according to reports in Italy.

Reds scouts have been regular visitors to Italy to watch the 24-year-old Slovakian in action with a view to making a move when the transfer window re-opens.

Signing at least one striker is known to be Brendan Rodgers' priority but he is still looking to strengthen all areas of his squad and Ilicic could bolster the midfield.

Ilicic impressed after joining Palermo in 2010 from Maribor and although he has struggled of late with form and fitness, there is still plenty of interest and Italian sides Roma and Inter Milan are also keen.
