Liverpool look to have missed out on long-term transfer target Lacina Traore after the striker agreed to join Juventus.
The Reds are thought to have tabled an offer for the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window, but were knocked back as Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala were not interested in selling at the time.
However, Anzhi owner Suleyman Kerimov has since decided he wants to cut the club's wage bill and has been offloading the team's high-earners recently.
Traore is a player who has been placed on the market and it has been suggested Liverpool were looking to go back in for him when the transfer window opened again in January.
A former coach of the Ivorian has now revealed that Traore will move to Italy next year, with Juventus thought to have agreed a 10million euro fee with Anzhi.
"I would love to (sign Traore) but in January Lacina will be a Juventus player." Dan Petrescu, Traore's former manager at Kuban Krasnodar, told Express.co.uk.
