Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who has penned a 'long term' deal at Anfield.
The Belgium international enhanced his reputation last season, playing a key role in helping the Black Cats survive in the Premier League and was voted the North East Player of the Year for 2012.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is known to be a big admirer of Mignolet and has made the 25-year-old his fourth signing of the summer, following the captures of Manchester City's Kolo Toure, Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas and Sevilla's Luis Alberto.
Mignolet completed a medical on Tuesday and then put pen-to-paper on a contract and is delighted to be making the switch to Merseyside.
He told the Liverpool club website: It's a big club and when you arrive it's a big thing. I'm very pleased to be here and I'm looking forward to getting started.
"The first training session will be very early and I'll be happy to be there. I think it will be very special the first moment I step onto the pitch."
