Former Liverpool target Lucas Digne is set leave Lille for Paris Saint-Germain, with the defender joining in a £12million deal.
The French full-back was a top Reds target earlier in the summer and boss Brendan Rodgers was being tipped to try and lure him to Anfield for around £7million.
However, he appears to have now been priced out of the transfer with Digne, 19, set for a medical at super-rich PSG before committing to a long-term deal at the French champions.
The France Under-20 international had been linked to several top European clubs but favours staying in his home country to continue his career.
Missing out on Digne means Rodgers will have to continue to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements with a centre-back and left-back on his summer wish-list.
