Remy deal collapses

Loic Remy's move to Liverpool is off after the Reds pulled the plug on the transfer for the QPR striker at the 11th hour.

It's understood the Anfield club decided against pushing through the £8.5m switch for the French international after concerns were raised following the 27-year-old's medical.

Remy is certain to be extremely disappointed at the collapse of the deal as he had expected to become Brendan Rodgers' latest signing after a busy summer in the transfer market.

He had even travelled out to Boston last week to link up with the squad on their US tour after agreeing personal terms with the Merseysiders, who had triggered a release clause in his contract due to their ability to offer him Champions League football next season.

The club haven't commented yet on the official reason behind the breakdown of the forward's transfer, but it's understood there is little or no chance of the move being resurrected and Rodgers will now look at other striker targets.
