Rodgers looks at striker

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keeping an eye on Mallorca frontman Tomer Hemed who has started the season in fine form.

The Northern Irishman has a real lack of options in attack at Anfield with Andy Carroll out on loan with West Ham and Fabio Borini out for three months with an ankle injury, Luis Suarez is the only available striker.

The former Swansea boss has not been afforded the same kind of money as his predecessor Kenny Dalgleish so will have to be cost-effective in his dealings.

Hemed has scored six goals in eight La Liga matches leaving him just behind Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao in the scoring charts.

The Israeli has helped Mallorca to make a positive start to the campaign and after only just over a season with the Spanish club could be on his way to the Premier League.
