Brendan Rodgers is 'confident' that he will make some exciting signings for Liverpool before the transfer window closes in September.
The Reds boss has already bolstered his squad with four new faces as Simon Mignolet, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Kolo Toure have arrived at Anfield so far.
However, Rodgers is well aware that if Liverpool are going to compete for a top-four Premier League finish to secure Champions League qualification, he needs to bring in a couple more quality additions.
The former Swansea boss is adamant there is plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes to get their targets on board and he is hopeful of making the breakthrough very soon.
"Nothing is close but plenty of work is going on," Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.
"How near or far we are, I will find out in Melbourne. There is daily dialogue going on but I am confident that we will get the one or two players who will really excite and complete the jigsaw.
"It was great to make the four signings so early on but we have still got some more work to do to strengthen the team."
