Rovers target Reds swoop

Blackburn are reported to be lining up a swoop for Liverpool youngster Nathan Eccleston but the Reds are reluctant to sell.

Rovers have been tracking the highly-rated 17-year-old for some time but so far Reds boss Rafa Benitez has refused to let the player go even though his passage to the first-team looks blocked.

Eccleston is in Liverpool's Champions League squad but he is struggling for action and feels that a move away from Anfield maybe the best thing for his career.

Rovers boss Paul Ince is going to make another attempt to sign him in January, while young Arsenal striker Jason Banton is also said to be on the gaffer's wanted list.
