Atletico Madrid are said to be ready to test Liverpool's resolve over keeping Luis Suarez by making a whopping £40m offer for him.
Atletico are expected to have money to spend in the summer due to new sponsors and the possible sale of star striker Radamel Falcao, who has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea or Manchester United next season.
According to reports they intend to spend some of the Falcao fee on signing the Uruguayan who will miss the first two months of the Premier League season due to his ten-match ban.
Suarez and Liverpool have stated on many occasions that he is staying at Anfield but they are likely to be tested by offers from abroad and any move from Atletico is likely to trigger a rival offer from Bayern Munich, which could prove harder to turn down.
