Liverpool will be without striker Luis Suarez for the clash with Newcastle on Saturday as he starts his lengthy suspension.
The Uruguayan is facing a ten-match ban - he has until Friday lunchtime to appeal the length of the suspension - but he will miss the clash at St James' Park.
January signing Daniel Sturridge, who scored in the draw with Chelsea last week, is almost certain to start up front and there could be a rare call for Fabio Borini.
He has been out since February with a dislocated shoulder but has returned to training and may make it to the bench.
Martin Kelly and Joe Allen remain sidelined - Kelly has a knee problem while Allen has had shoulder surgery - so neither will feature again this season.
