Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has reiterated the club's stance on star striker Luis Suarez and insist 'he is not for sale'.
Despite constant denials that they will sell the Uruguayan in the summer, speculation continues that he could be lured away from Liverpool by a club who can offer Champions League football next season.
German giants Bayern Munich have been linked with a mega money move and their new boss Pep Guardiola is expected to be handed a hefty transfer kitty to spend when he takes over at the end of the season.
Suarez only signed a new contract extension recently and Ayre says he is going nowhere, telling Sports Illustrated: "To play at the highest level in the Premier League and European soccer, you need players like Luis and Steven Gerrard on your team.
"So the last thing in our mind is selling Luis Suarez. He's not for sale. It's not something we're interested in.
"I remember when they (Fenway Sports Group) bought the team, John (Henry) made a comment in the media: We don't want to just build a team to win but to keep winning. To do that you have to have a number of world-class players on your team."
