Bolton are lining up a loan move for Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling but have yet to make a bid for the player.
Trotters boss Dougie Freedman rates the youngster very highly and first made an approach to sign him on loan towards the end of last season, but was told no by Brendan Rodgers.
Freedman has maintained an interest in the young forward and is said to be lining up a season-long loan move, although sources close to Bolton have said an offer has yet to be made.
Everything will hinge on the players Rodgers brings to Anfield during the summer and whether Sterling will play a prominent role in the Liverpool first team in the forthcoming season.
Bolton would also love to sign Jay Spearing on a permanent basis but the £3million rated midfielder wants to play in the Premier League with Sunderland among the clubs willing to hand him that opportunity.
