Luton boss Kevin Blackwell has not offered a contract to Arsenal's transfer-listed Republic of Ireland international Joe O'Cearuill.

The 20-year-old defender, who made his senior Irish debut against Ecuador in May, joined the Hatters on trial last week.

But O'Cearuill failed to impress the manager in a pre-season run-out against Dagenham and Redbridge and will move on after being given the go-ahead to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

O'Cearuill was one of seven trialists to have spent time at Kenilworth Road in recent days, and Blackwell said: "I'm not taking any of them on - we've sent them all back. We've had a look at them, but we won't be taking them on.

"I'm not going to be spending the club's money unless I'm absolutely sure on a player."
