Luton Town and West Brom have agreed a fee for the transfer of Hatters central defender Leon Barnett to the Hawthorns.

The fee is widely reported to be around the £3m mark - although that is more likely to be the figure it could rise to if all the add ons are met - but it remains a good fee for the Hatters.

The 21-year-old is set to meet Albion officials to discuss personal terms and pass a medical but a deal is expected to go through before the weekend, according to the players agent Mel Goldberg

He said: "We are close to tying it all up. We hope to have it completed by Friday of this week."

Once the deal is completed West Brom are expected to sell defender Curtis Davies to a Premiership side for £9m which will also bring the Hatters some cash as they have a sell on clause in his deal from when he was sold to the Baggies originally.
