Luton have agreed to pay Shrewsbury Town a reported £250,000 in compensation for Wales Under-21 midfielder David Edwards.

The 21-year-old joined the Hatters last month after becoming a free agent and it was expected that a transfer tribunal panel would decide on the compensation package Luton would have to pay.

However, it has emerged the two clubs have agreed on a compensation deal, although the Shrews had indicated they wanted more than the £250,000 Luton say they have offered.

Shrewsbury were believed to be holding out for a figure nearing £400,000.
