Sergio Aguero says Manchester City will not concede the title despite suffering a shock defeat at Southampton on Saturday.
After winning the Premier League in May, the Citizens have struggled to repeat the heights of last season and despite being second, Roberto Mancini's men are some way behind Manchester United, who play on Sunday, in the table.
However, Aguero and co were trailing this time last year but battled back to win the title race on the final day of the season.
Saturday's shock defeat at St Mary's has only made things more difficult for City but the little Argentine says his side will never give up on retaining their crown.
"Some days, nothing works the way it should," he wrote on Twitter. "(Saturday) was one of those days. There's no excuse - we need to work hard to forge ahead.
"It all looks a bit grim right now, but I won't believe giving up is an option."
Despite their troubles in the league, City can still win silverware this season and after winning the FA Cup in 2001, punters may look to use their free bet to back them to lift the trophy again this time around.
