Roma's general manager Franco Baldini has dismissed claims they will sell Daniele De Rossi to Manchester City in the near future.
The 52-year-old has spoken out following constant speculation suggesting that City boss Roberto Mancini would be resurrecting his efforts to get the 29-year-old Italy international on board after missing out on him during the summer transfer window.
And, following claims City could make an offer for De Rossi in January, Baldini has insisted that the player will be going nowhere.
"De Rossi will play with us in the future, we won't sell him," he told reporters at a press conference.
Baldini's words come on the back of De Rossi previously stating that he is happy in Rome and did not have a desire to leave the Stadio Olimpico.
City also seem to be coming to terms with the fact that one of their top targets is not going to be available to them after head scout Carlo Cancellieri revealed an interest in Barcelona star Sergio Busquets as an alternative option.
