Manchester City have joined Chelsea in the race to land Swansea boss Michael Laudrup should they axe Roberto Mancini.

Despite winning the Premier League title last season, Mancini is under pressure at the Etihad Stadium as City are 12 points behind leaders Manchester United, while an early exit from the Champions League did not help matters.

Rafa Benitez is also feeling the heat at Chelsea and is unlikely to be kept on board when his short-term deal runs out at the end of the season.

Both clubs could be on the look out for a new boss and reports claim that Laudrup is now a serious contender after guiding Swansea to the Capital One Cup Final and to 9th in the Premier League.

Swansea are working hard trying to get Laudrup tied down to a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2015 but the interest from City and Chelsea could throw a spanner in the works.

Laudrup says he is happy at Swansea but has also made it clear he will not stay with the club long-term and he may decide to leave on a high at the end of the season.
