Manchester city are hoping to sign Malaga star Isco in the January transfer window, but they will loan him back to the Spanish club.
New director of football Txiki Begiristain is hoping to swoop for the Spanish playmaker in a deal worth around £17.5million as the Premier League champions look to strengthen their squad and push for a successive title.
The former Valencia player will be loaned back to the Andalusian club until the end of the season in order to keep the fee down, allowing the Manchester club to focus on a move for Radamel Falcao or Stevan Jovetic.
The 20 year-old has been winning admirers all over Europe with some stunning performances for the Spanish side and fellow Valencia youth academy graduate David Silva has also recommended him to City staff.
Malaga have already secured their progression through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and sit fourth in La Liga.
